Gluten Wheat Free
Gluten is the main protein of the cereal grains wheat, rye, tritcale, barley and oats. These grains appear in many foods such as bread, pasta, biscuits and cakes. Gluten is also found in the 'not so obvious' foods i.e. sausages, processed meats, soups, sauces, dressings and thickeners.
Coeliac Disease is a lifelong dietary intolerance to gluten resulting in damage to the lining of the small intestine, such that food is not absorbed properly. Symptoms include anaemia, tiredness, depression, chronic diarrhoea, bloating and osteoporosis.
